Read and study the Bible in a small, committed group of fourteen or less members. The Disciple I bible study class meets weekly for 2 1/2 hours for a period of 34 weeks (nine months). The class will begin in August and end in May, with breaks over Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring breaks. The class will be held on a weeknight, the day is still to be determined.

Disciple I is an approach to Bible study that emphasizes disciplined reading of Scripture. In weekly meetings, participants will watch a video presentation by a biblical scholar on that week’s subject. Then, participants will join in study and discussion of the scripture of the week. Each participant will need to make a commitment to daily preparation, weekly attendance, and full participation in the group study sessions. Participants will study both the Old and New Testaments, covering almost every book in the Bible. Participation in Disciple I results in biblically nourished persons committed to live their lives as disciples. Disciple I aims at transformation, not just information. This study is for any adult who seeks to be empowered for ministry and leadership in the church, and who desires to expand opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth. Participants often become good friends.

The class will be facilitated by Lisa Bryan. Lisa helped to co-facilitate the class this past year, and she has been a facilitator in the Disciple bible study program for the past 10 years. An informational meeting was held at the church on July 24 at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall. For more information, contact Lisa.
