The CTL Recorder Choir started a few years ago to provide another dimension to the Music Department. Our plan is to teach those who want to learn an instrument as well as be an outlet for those who already play recorders. We try to add a different element to the Music Department focusing on more classical music, but we do have fun with other music genres as well during practice. We are always willing to work with beginners. We have music and instruments for anyone interested in joining.
Our director, Darlene Swaim met her husband, David Swaim, at the Atlanta Recorder Society way back when, so recorders have always had special meaning for them. A couple of years after getting married and having their daughter, Kat, they joined Christ the Lord. Darlene helped out with crafts for FOF and VBS while her daughter was growing up, but then was drawn into the Music Department (most likely highjacked by Laura). Besides directing the Recorder Choir, she can be seen helping/performing with the musicals, singing in choir, dancing and occasionally playing the flute.
