The CTL Rhythm Section Handbell choir is a beginning level handbell choir with no previous music experience necessary. Your interest in learning to ring handbells and read music is your ticket to join. We begin in the Fall with the basics, and build on them through the year, demonstrating our progress at several church services and a Christmas program performance. Youth, men and women are all invited to learn together in an easy-going, friendly setting.
Ruth Olson, husband Lee Olson, and children Eric and Sally have been members of CTL for so long she does not remember. Ruth spends her days working as a horticulturist in Buckhead, and most nights in one Music Ministry rehearsal or another. Ruth learned to ring handbells at their previous Lutheran church in Naperville, IL and happened to make the comment to the Director of Music Ministry Laura Bryant that she missed that aspect of her church experience here at CTL. Well, what do you know but a few months later a set of handbells appeared at church, and the rest is history. Ruth enjoys sharing the gift of music with any and all who are interested.
