When we remember all of those in need, lonely, and hurting in our community
All: We give thanks for your mercy for each of us.
When we serve those who have special needs and challenges
All: We give thanks for your oversight of our mental, physical and spiritual well-being.
When we serve those who cannot care for themselves
All: We give thanks for loving, compassionate caregivers.
When we serve the aging that often feel alone and forgotten
All: We give thanks for the wisdom of age and cherished memories of days gone by.
When we serve to support families that are struggling to break the cycles of homelessness, poverty and domestic violence
All: We give thanks for your promise that nothing is too big for you to overcome.
When we serve to build homes for those who seek affordable housing
All: We give thanks for a place to call home.
When we serve the children of Christ the Lord who love to run and play
All: We give thanks for Christ’s example to love and nurture our church and to invite children to draw closer to Him.
When we embrace this opportunity today to be Caring People Caring for People
All: We give thanks for the new covenant of Easter to love one another as Christ loved us.
All: Lord God, we are full of worship and praise to you this day as we step outside the doors of your church to shine your light for the world to see. May your Holy Spirit work through us so we may share your love, hope and promise with those who need it most. Use us today to care for our community. Uphold those whom we serve. Reveal to us how richly we are blessed to be a blessing to others. Guide us and strengthen us so we may serve your will and your purpose today and make the world around us a better place.
In your holy name we pray.
AMEN
