Event and Experience

We have explored together the different ways the gospel writers have presented the story of Jesus Christ. Then we have looked at three theories of atonement that seek to explain how God redeemed his creation-atonement. As we discussed earlier, each theory had its strengths and weaknesses. But all of them seem to fall short of giving us a satisfactory answer for how God redeemed his creation.

Today we will look at the final idea as proposed by David Lose in Making Sense of the Cross. Many of his ideas are expressed by Martin Luther.
